<description><![CDATA[Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel reunited Friday night at New Yorks Beacon Theatre. The show was billed as a Paul Simon solo performance and marked the grand reopening of the Beacon after an extensive seven-month renovation. After flying into New York in the midst of a solo tour, Garfunkel emerged during Simons encore for three classics: The Sound of Silence, The Boxer and Old Friends. The paired performers have shared the stage a handful of times since wrapping up their most recent reunion tour at Romes famed Flavian Amphitheatre (better known as The Colosseum) in 2004, including an appearance at the 2007s Gershwin Awards.]]></description>

As previously reported, the multi-day event will take place at Hunter Mountain from May 29-31, featuring performances by The Allman Brothers Band, Govt Mule, Michael Franti &amp; Spearhead, Girl Talk, Coheed &amp; Cambria, The Derek Trucks Band, The Hold Steady, Richie Havens, Railroad Earth, Porter Batiste &amp; Stoltz, Brett Dennen and The Lee Boys, among others. Other recently confirmed acts include the Marco Benevento Trio, Eric Krasno &amp; Chapter 2 and Alberta Cross. A handful of additional acts will be added to the festivals lineup in the coming weeks.]]></description>

Following the recent cancellation of the Hamptonite Phish after parties on March 6 and 7, event anchors BoomBox, EOTO and Pretty Lights have joined together to organize a free ticket exchange for all ticket holders who lost money on their processing fees.  According to the three bands, beginning February 17, all ticket holders who can prove proof of purchase, will be allotted a free replacement ticket to the show of their choice in 2009, for one of the three participating acts (festival and private dates excluded).]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Galactic and JJ Grey &amp; MOFROs Mile High Mardi Gras ]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[This past Saturday, Galactic hosted its Mile High Mardi Gras at Denvers Fillmore Auditorium. The event was a co-bill with JJ Grey &amp; MOFRO and featured an expanded Galactic horn section that included Rebirth Brass Bands Corey Henry and Andrew Baham. Partway through Galactics show-closing set, Grey, the MOFRO Horns and George Porter. Jr all took the stage with Galactic for I Thank You. Grey and Porter then remained onstage for a cover of Robert Palmers Sneaking Sally Through The Alley. Later, the night ended with New Orleans native Henry Butler joining Galactic for a run through Tipitinas. JJ Grey &amp; MOFRO and Galactic will share the stage once again this Wednesday for a performance at Tulsa, OKs Cain's Ballroom.]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Special Guests and Surprise Covers Mark Umphreys Madison Run ]]></title>

Umphreys McGee wrapped-up a four-night run at Madison, WIs Barrymore Theatre this past Sunday. In addition to a previously reported cameo by Jeff Coffin Thursday night, each show featured a number of surprises. On Friday, Jen Hartswick and Kevin Sinclair emerged on trumpet and saxophone, respectively for Memphis Underground, while Jake Cinninger led Umphreys through Living On a Farm, a long-shelved cut from his previous band Ali Baba's Tahini. The following night Umphreys bassist Ryan Stasik threw an American the Beautiful bass jam into All Things Ninja and, finally, on Sunday both Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss unplugged their guitars for a semi-acoustic first set. The band also busted out a cover of .38 Specials Hold On Loosely and brought out former lighting designer Adam Budney to sing Honey Bunch as an encore. Umphreys McGee will kick off the next leg of its winter tour at Atlantas Variety Playhouse this Thursday.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Colorados Eagle County District Attorneys office has decided to not file charges against Leftover Salmon keyboardist Bill McKay. Earlier this year McKay was arrested from an incident stemming n a charge of sexual assault stemming from a New Years Eve party. According to the Vail Daily News, The Eagle County District Attorney's office did not file charges against the 39-year-old musician, who is known best for playing keyboard in Boulder-based Leftover Salmon. McKays Leftover Salmon bandmate Drew Emmitt originally spoke out against the keyboardist, but later retracted his statements.]]></description>
